Honor Band
Purpose of Honor Band: To build a sense of community, responsibility, discipline and self confidence. Students will engage in activities that will promote the band program and themselves in a positive manner. Those who choose to participate will be recognized for their achievements at the Spring Concert. They will receive a special medal of honor that may be worn for Graduation. This is not for an actual “band,” it is for recognition for contributions to the program. By implementing the Honor Band program, we are recognizing that all students can contribute in a meaningful, purposeful way, regardless their grade or ability level.
How to achieve Honor Band status: This year we will be using a point system. Various methods of earning points and their values are listed below in three categories. It is up to the student to decide how he or she chooses to earn points over the course of the year. Students need to earn at least 50 points to achieve Honor Band status.
