Solo and Ensemble ContestSolo and Ensemble Contest is an opportunity for students to perform as a soloist or in a small ensemble, receive feedback from esteemed music educators, and earn medals for their performance.

Organizational ContestOrganizational Contest is an opportunity for students to perform together as an ensemble, receive feedback from esteemed music educators, and earn medals for their performance.
The NIMCon Organizational Contest is held at a different host school every March. All of the NIMCon member schools participate annually. Bands are rated on a graded scale based on their performance. Tuning, rhythmic accuracy, balance, style and musical interpretation are all evaluated by highly qualified and respected judges, and bands are given a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place divisional rating. Students receive medals, and the school receives a plaque. Participation is required by all members of the Symphonic Band. Concert Band members may also be required to participate. |
